Description

At just 160 grams, this Canon EF 50mm f1.8 STM lens is incredible value for its size, not to mention value for money. A popular lens amongst EOS users of all types and experience levels, this lens is a perfect choice for your first foray into the world prime lenses.

When paired up with an APS-C format Digital SLR this lens benefits from a more magnified focal length, making it perfect for a tighter crop on your portraits. Also beneficial for portraiture is the large f1.8 maximum aperture, which allows you to explore the world of depth of field control, creating blurry backgrounds with sharp and precise foregrounds. This large aperture is also a great feature for lovers of low-light photography and travel-friendly handheld shooting.

An obvious advancement over previous versions of this popular compact prime lens is the inclusion of the STM motor, which brings things more in line with modern cameras and their fast burst shooting rates and high definition movie quality. For these mentioned purposes the stepping motor delivers a quality of autofocus that is impressive in its speed as well as its smooth and quiet nature.
