Sigma AF 30mm f1.4 DC DN - Sony E

An ultra-fast prime lens for Mirrorless cameras

The Sigma 30mm f1.4 Contemporary is a flexible prime lens, well-suited to a range of photographic uses and excelling at many, due in part to its fast aperture rating. A lens this fast is designed for use throughout the whole gamut of lighting conditions, able to produce blur-free images without the need of a tripod or flash, even after the sun has gone down.Another obvious benefit of this large Max aperture is the ability to create images with stunning depth of field, allowing you to really make your subject in the foreground stand out, while sending the background into a dreamy blur. This background blur is of a beautiful, natural appearance due to the rounded 9-blade diaphragm.

Optical prowess for stunning resultsOptically the Sigma 30mm f1.4 is going to please both beginners and more advanced shooters, with its promise of tack sharp photographs, even in the corners of the frame. The construction includes three aspherical surfaces which both ensure this image sharpness and also help with the reduction of aberrations and other imperfections. Also on board for the reduction of such detriments are a super multi-layer coating and a high-refractive-index element. Colour fringing, chromatic aberration, ghosting and flare have all been addressed and the result is a clarity and detail that is truly impressive.

A stepping focus motor, promising AF that is up to any taskThe equivalent focal length of 45mm or 60mm (depending on the mount) that this lens offers will find it being used for an array of uses, including portraits, travel, landscape and documentary style photography. Its Virtues are also not limited to the still image, with many interchangeable lens cameras now offering video of such stunning quality. Thankfully the Sigma 30mm f1.4 Contemporary lens is prepared to handle all of these uses, including fast-moving stills and videos, thanks to the inclusion of a stepping AF motor. This motor provides fast, smooth and virtually silent autofocus that is reliably accurate and will simply go about getting the job done discretely.
